I’m Vincent Alain, and I create art and stories within my local community.
My life started in Honolulu, Hawaii and my early childhood was as normal as they come. While I was still young, my parents moved me back to the mainland to Chicago. I can still remember how tight my fingers were on the shutter button of the film SLR camera while I focused the ring on the lens. I snapped my first picture – a fern bush behind my school – and with that click of the shutter, I knew my life would never be the same again.
The pitch black, with a soft glow of reddish light in the darkroom offered solace to my thoughts. The quiet serenity of the wash basins water flowing was calming. As I stood over the solution of developer, I waited for my images to appear out of thin air. It’s just like magic when the ghostly photograph appears on the paper.
When people see my work, they understand my passion and my creative craft. It’s a deep love for something that goes much beyond yourself. I’ve never stopped since.
In 2014, I pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. I learned a different side of storytelling. Late in 2016, I continued my story into a Master’s Degree in Public Relations at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
